We won’t get to watch Leonard Fournette during Thursday’s regular season finale between LSU and Texas A&M, but one star player will be suiting up that most did not see coming.
Coach Kevin Sumlin had previously stated that senior quarterback Trevor Knight would be out for at least the remainder of the regular season and possibly the bowl game after suffering a shoulder injury on Nov. 5, but it seems as if that has changed. Knight will return under center tomorrow after missing the last two games, reports 247Sports.com.
Junior Jake Hubenak, who started the two games in Knight’s absence, is out for the Thanksgiving game against the Tigers with a shoulder injury of his own. Former walk-on Conner McQueen will likely serve as the backup.
In nine starts this season, Knight has completed 149-of-284 (52.5 percent) of his pass attempts for 1,911 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s also been a big threat out of the pocket, entering Week 13 as the team’s second-leading rusher with 583 yards and 10 scores with his feet.
Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3) will host LSU (6-4, 4-3) for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
