Texas A&M had some serious competition for transfer quarterback Trevor Knight, some that was right under the Aggies’ nose.

According to DallasNews.com’s Kate Hairopoulos, Knight chose Texas A&M over two other SEC West schools, and she gave indication that they were Auburn and LSU.

Connor Knight, his fraternal twin and a long snapper/tight end at Oklahoma, pointed that out to Hairopoulos.

“It was a really tough choice for him,” Connor said. “I think he had some really good conversations with (Auburn coach) Gus Malzahn and (LSU coach) Les Miles. He developed good relationships with them.”

Knight, a San Antonio native, is expected to help an Aggies team that saw former quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray transfer within a single week back in December.

As a freshman, Knight was the Sugar Bowl MVP in Oklahoma’s 41-30 win over Alabama in the 2013 season. However, Knight failed to duplicate that kind of effort during the rest of his time at Oklahoma.
