Trevor Lawrence is not used to Clemson being on the wrong side of the scoreboard very often, but that’s where the former quarterback found the Tigers on Saturday against Georgia.
His teammate with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Terry Godwin, a former Georgia wide receiver, made sure to remind him of that, and for Lawrence to pay off their bet since Georgia beat Clemson.
Shared in a story on Instagram, Godwin said in the video, “You look good in red and black, man, I like it.”
While Georgia and Clemson move on in their seasons this week following Georgia’s win in Charlotte, the Jacksonville Jaguars open their season on Sunday against the Houston Texans.
Lawrence this week is trying to become the first quarterback selected No. 1 overall to win his first NFL start since Houston’s David Carr in 2002. Several have failed to do so, including Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
