This close to any draft, you have to take all information with a grain of salt but when multiple reporters are sharing the same news, it gives an added level of credibility to the latest rumors.

Joe Burrow appears to be a lock to go No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft while most assume Chase Young will be picked at No. 2 overall. The drama surrounding this draft is expected to start at No. 3 with the Lions pick.

Detroit could stand pat and draft the player on top of its board, or, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler are reporting, the Lions could potentially trade the pick.

Schefter shared this nugget on Twitter: “Here’s something worth monitoring tonight: Jaguars’ GM Dave Caldwell just called Lions’ GM Bob Quinn about this evening’s picks, per source.”

Fowler also offered up a similar comment, noting the Lions are fielding calls, but he did not mention the Jaguars specifically: “Chargers have talked to at least one team in the top five about tonight’s picks, according to a source. The action could start at 3 with Lions, who have talked to several teams today.”

While this could all be misinformation leading up to the draft, it’s worth noting that these two reporters are both hearing that the Lions are at least interested in discussing a move out of No. 3.

Depending on which player is available when the No. 3 pick is set to be made, look for the Lions to take their time fielding calls for a potential trade once the 2020 NFL Draft starts up Thursday night.
