When Tua Tagovailoa’s college career is over, his name will more than likely be all over the Alabama record book.
He cemented at least one record in Saturday’s Iron Bowl, notching his 36th and 37th scores of the season to break the program’s single-season high mark for total touchdowns.
With 1 rushing & 1 passing TDs in the first half today, Tua Tagovailoa upped his touchdown responsibility total for the season to 37 (32 passing/5 rushing), breaking the school single-season record. #OutworkYesterday#RollTide pic.twitter.com/mf9RTBLa4K

His first touchdown was a physical 7-yard rush midway through the first quarter, which moved him into a tie with Jalen Hurts’ 2016 scoring output. Then, less than a minute into the second quarter, Tagovailoa found Henry Ruggs III for a 4-yard passing touchdown.
The Heisman Trophy frontrunner will likely end up shattering the record once the season even over, considering the Crimson Tide has more than a half left against Auburn, the SEC championship game and the potential to play in two contests after that if it makes the College Football Playoff.
For now, Tagovailoa has No. 1 Alabama ahead of the Tigers 17-7 with nine minutes until halftime.
