Just when Tua Tagovialoa was heating up, he went down.

Alabama’s starting quarterback had to be carried off the field after apparently getting spiked when he was stepped on after planting his foot on a passing attempt in the fourth quarter of the SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

Tua remained down as the Alabama training staff came out to check on him. They eventually helped him off the field, while it appeared he could not put any weight on his ankle. Jalen Hurts has replaced Tagovailoa in the game with the game on the line.

Tua’s shoe is off and the cart has been called for him, according to the CBS broadcast.

The Alabama QB was having a tough game leading up to his injury, he had completed only 10 of 25 passes for 164 yards with one score and two interceptions.
