Tua Tagovailoa had a huge game for Miami on Sunday.

The former Alabama star had returned from his injury/concussion issues in a win over Pittsburgh last week, but he was on fire Sunday against Detroit.

Tagovailoa completed 29-of-36 passes for 382 yards and 3 touchdowns to help the Dolphins secure a 31-27 win and move to 5-3 on the season.

How good was the performance? He became the first Miami quarterback to pass for more than 350 yards, at least 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions while also completing at least 80 percent of his passes.

Tagovailoa, whose health status has been the subject of national headlines this fall, discussed after the game what enabled him to play so well.

“Being able to go through an entire week with the guys after a rusty game last week,” Tagovailoa said. “And just getting back into rhythm. … It was a great team victory.”

He did, however, add that there’s plenty the Dolphins can still do to get better.

“There’s a lot of things that we need to get corrected,” Tagovailoa added. “There were a lot of opportunities that we had pushing the ball down the field that got called back, so we’ll look at that and we’ll hope to get better from that moving forward.”
