It’s no surprise these days when you hear about a middle school athlete receiving a scholarship offer.
Still, it was interesting to see the latest 8th grader to receive a Power 5 scholarship offer, as it was the cousin of Alabama QBs Tua and Taulia Tagovailoa.
Per reporter Simone Eli, Maryland has extended an offer to Tuli Tagovailoa, a quarterback in the class of 2024:
Thompson 8th grade QB Tuli Tagovailoa (class of 2024) received his first collegiate offer from Maryland. Tuli is Tua and Taulia’s first cousin. Bright future ahead for @WARRIORNATION20! #GoTerps @247Sports @Rivals @CoachLocks @dtagovailoa pic.twitter.com/V7SsOsyK78

Maryland coach Mike Locksley has ties to the Tagovailoa brothers, as he was Tua’s offensive coordinator in 2018.
Tuli still has plenty of time to choose a school, but for now, he at least holds an offer from the Terrapins.
