Ahead of their matchup this Saturday, Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall joined McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning to discuss how he is preparing his team for both of the Rebel quarterbacks.

Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons missed most of last game against Arkansas due to injury. Trinidad Chambliss led the way against the Razorbacks, throwing for 353 yards and 1 touchdown, while rushing for 2 scores. While Simmons is expected back for their game against Tulane, head coach Sumrall is preparing for the chance to see both quarterbacks.

“The Simmons kid No. 13, he’s got like a wow arm, like when the ball comes out, it’s pretty obvious…you can watch this dude on video and be like, ‘Okay, this dude’s got a hose,'” Sumrall said. “And then No. 6, man, he’s just a really crafty; you can tell he’s a veteran player. He plays with a little bit of a swagger, a little bit of a confidence about him. Watching him play last week, you would’ve thought he had been in that system for 3 years.”

Sumrall went on to say, “Either way, they’re both really good, but the style of play does change a little bit depending on which guy they got in.”

Tulane will go on the road Saturday to take on No. 13 Ole Miss at 3:30 p.m. ET.
