One of the more underrated Group of 5 programs so far this season has been the Tulane Green Wave, who are currently right in the thick of things for an AAC championship game appearance.
The Green Wave entered Saturday ready for a showdown against a very tricky Army Black Knights squad, and that game went all the way down to the wire with things being all knotted up at 17 with under a minute to play.
Tulane was driving deep into Army territory looking to take the lead, and junior wide receiver Shazz Preston ended up making one of the craziest catches of the season for the game-winning score.
With time ticking down and the Green Wave on the Army 26, junior quarterback Jake Retzlaff rifled the ball to Preston at the goal line between 2 Black Knight defenders. The ball appeared to bounce off the hands of the first Army defensive back and proceeded to bounce up into the air.
Preston was able to locate the ball in the air, bobbled it a bit at first, but was ultimately able to haul in the decisive touchdown, and helped move the Green Wave to 6-1 on the season.
Tulane is now 6-1 on the season with its only loss coming against Ole Miss earlier this year.
