Football fans may soon have something to watch in those months between the final snap of the Super Bowl and the start of the new season.

Sports Business Daily reports that three veteran TV executives with ties to networks such as NBC, CBS, TBS and WWE are working to launch the Spring League of American Football (SLAF). The SLAF would feature 10 teams playing a 10-game schedule that runs from April to July.

SBD states that teams will represent various states and regions, with players who have geographic affiliations to the area, presumably hometown or alma mater.

The league aims to launch in 2018.
