Mississippi State is expecting a pair of defensive leaders to return to the lineup on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Texas A&M on Saturday.
Senior DB Kivon Coman (ankle) and senior DL A.J. Jefferson (elbow) are back at practice and looking to play on Saturday.
According to the Clarion-Ledger, Jefferson, who missed the past two games, said he was mostly held out against Samford as a precaution:
“I probably could have played (against Samford),” Jefferson said. “But it’s one of those things, you play it by ear. I felt a lot better out there (Tuesday).”
Coman has missed the last three contests and said it feels good to be back on the field:
“I’m happy to be back with my teammates, my family, my brothers,” Coman said. “We had a great practice today. I feel like everybody’s having fun again.”
Mississippi State’s game against the Aggies kicks off at 11 a.m. Central time on Saturday and can be seen on the SEC Network.
