Two more SEC schools have made the decision to ban hoverboards.

Auburn and Missouri released notices today to announce the bans. Auburn cited the issues raised by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and the school is preventing self-balancing devices from being used or charged on campus.

The concern stems from investigations that several agencies are conducting to look into fires and injuries associated with the devices, which have rapidly grown in popularity.

Missouri also released this notice with similar reasoning:

Last week, LSU announced it would be doing so from use on campus and on campus-run housing. LSU made the decision after university officials met with their Risk Management and Safety board and came to the conclusion that the batteries inside the board can burst into flame, especially while being charged.

The school says its ban will remain in place until there is implementation of safety standards for all models.
