Two SEC centers named finalists for Rimington Trophy

Two SEC players were announced as finalists for a prestigious national award on Monday.

The three finalists for the Rimington Trophy were announced with Alabama’s Bradley Bozeman and LSU’s Will Clapp still in the running for the award. The third finalist is Ohio State’s Billy Price.

Clapp is a junior who was a leader for the LSU offensive line. He helped pave the way for a Tigers offense that averaged 210.8 rushing yards a game. Clapp also blocked for a 1,000-yard rusher in Derrius Guice this season.

Bozeman is a senior who helped block for the SEC’s best rushing unit in yards per game. Alabama led the league with 265.3 rushing yards per game, and Bozeman was an anchor along the offensive line all year for a Tide team that finished with an 11-1 record.

The Rimington Trophy is an annual award that is given to the best center in in the country. The trophy’s official Twitter account made the announcement with a graphic of the three finalists:
