Former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is seeing his potential National Football League value rise in the wake of his Pro Day workout earlier this week, as NFL.com analyst Charles Davis has pushed Simpson much higher in his most recent mock draft.

How high? Try third overall.

Davis’ NFL mock draft 3.0 lists Simpson going with the No. 3 pick to the Arizona Cardinals, reasoning that the Cardinals – who released Kyler Murray after the 2025 season – won’t be content with veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew under center for first-year coach Mike LaFleur.

According to Davis:

Last year, I opined in one of my early mocks that Jaxson Dart would go to the Giants with the third overall pick, but I didn’t stick with the pairing as the process unfolded. Dart, of course, ultimately ended up with New York after Big Blue traded back into the first round and selected the quarterback at No. 25. This year, I think Simpson ends up with the Cardinals, even if this is not the spot where they pick him.

Simpson started just 15 games in his Crimson Tide career – all in 2025 – despite being in Tuscaloosa for four seasons. The Tide went 11-4 with Simpson under center, earning a spot in the College Football Playoff, with Simpson throwing for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
