Ty Simpson reveals hobby he enjoys outside of football: ‘It’s like a big puzzle’
Alabama fans don’t yet know if Ty Simpson can handle the peaks and valleys of being a starting quarterback in the SEC, but they do now know that he has an affinity for LEGOs.
Per Bama247’s Mike Rodak’s report, Simpson revealed in a media appearance that he’s a frequent LEGO architect, with him tabbing Star Wars and Avengers-themed sets as his preferred genre.
“I really enjoy doing LEGOs. It keeps me occupied doing something, and it’s like a big puzzle,” Simpson explained. “I have about 20 sets in my house just from different types of things I like. One is Star Wars, Two is Avengers.
“I went to New York recently and did a New York sculpture-type thing,” Simpson added. “I’ve spent many nights up [playing LEGOs].”
Bama fans–likely of the younger variety–will be glad to hear that they can relate to their new starting quarterback on this level.
A former 5-star prospect according to 247 Sports, Simpson has bided his time behind the likes of Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe as he awaited his turn at the helm of Alabama’s offense. Up to this point in his career, the Tennessee native has completed 58% of his passes for 381 yards.
Now, Simpson has the keys to the Crimson Tide attack, and he’s expected to manufacture an explosive offensive unit this season.
It just remains to be seen if Simpson can make the Alabama offense resemble a 7,500-piece Millennium Falcon…or merely a 10-piece speeder bike.
