Ty Simpson and the Alabama Crimson Tide have been one of the best passing attacks in all of college football. However, he struggled in a big way on Saturday, going only 19-of-39 for 212 yards in the 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship on Saturday.

He threw one touchdown in the game, but also threw a pick. On the season, he has thrown for 3,056 yards, 25 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

After the game, Simpson told reporters it was frustrating because he feels Alabama has the best offense in the nation, but didn’t show it vs. the Bulldogs.

“Yeah, we have a standard as an offense in general. Actually, we know we’re the best offense in the country,” Simpson said. “Then when we don’t show it, it’s very frustrating, especially times when we’re just a couple things away. Like I said, credit to Georgia’s defense, right? They had a good plan. That’s pretty much simple as that.”

The ground game has been an issue all year for Alabama, but it has never been worse than it was on Saturday. The Crimson Tide finished with -3 rushing yards on 16 carries. That, combined with the Bulldogs taking a big lead made it nearly impossible for the Crimson Tide to have any type of balance on offense.

Simpson is hoping that the Crimson Tide offense will have the opportunity to showcase that it is the best in the country in the College Football Playoff.
