Tyler Badie earns permanent team captain spot amid breakout season

Tyler Badie is in the midst of a breakout season at Missouri, and now he officially has a leadership post.

Coach Eli Drinkwitz announced on Tuesday a decision that actually came before last week’s game with Vanderbilt. Badie is a permanent team captain for the Tigers. Badie helps fill the spot with Case Cook injured.

After the Vanderbilt win on Saturday, when Badie, now the SEC’s leading rusher, had 31 carries for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns, Drinkwitz spoke about what Badie means to the team.

“He’s a great player, been saying it for a long time, he’s probably the best player that nobody’s talking about,” Drinkwitz said. “He’s really the engine that drives us and he’s got a big heart and he’s a competitor and showed it tonight.”
