Tyler Herro is expected to play on Monday night as the former Kentucky shooter could be a factor in Game 5 of the NBA Finals for the Miami Heat.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Herro was upgraded to questionable before the game against the Denver Nuggets, who lead the series 3 games to 1. Herro, who broke his hand in the first round of the NBA playoffs, averages 20.1 points per game this season, with 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
Herro suffered the right-hand injury when he dove for a loose ball late in the second quarter of the Eastern Conference playoff opener against the Milwaukee Bucks. Herro had surgery on April 21 for the fracture, with a 4-to-6 week recovery timetable, and that made an NBA Finals return possible.
Wojnarowski added that Herro’s still experiencing a level of discomfort in the surgically repaired hand but is hopeful to try to give the Heat what he can.
