UCF QB McKenzie Milton makes it personal, responds to Greg McElroy’s claim that Auburn would have beat UCF in Playoff

Based on his response, it goes without saying McKenzie Milton is not a fan of Greg McElroy.

If you missed it on Monday, the former Alabama quarterback and current ESPN college football analyst made some bizarre claims regarding Auburn’s loss to UCF in the Peach Bowl. While stating his belief that UCF had no business in the Playoff last season, McElroy claimed that even Auburn would have beaten the Knights in the Playoff.

His statements were made despite the fact UCF beat Auburn 34-27 in the Peach Bowl.

“If a National Championship was on the line, Auburn would’ve played a whole heck of a lot better,” McElroy said during an appearance on SiriusXM radio. “Just go watch the effort. Talk to the coaches, even if they may not want to tell you that.

“Getting those guys ready to play just after they got their heart ripped out is really difficult. It is. I can tell you from experience as someone that has gone thru that in 2008 when we (Alabama) played against Utah having lost to Florida in the SEC Championship Game.”

Well, Milton has issued a statement of his own to McElroy stating “Your career was dust buddy,”  to the former Bama signal caller on Instagram:

Shots officially fired.

Milton has since deleted that post and McElroy has issued a response. To no surprise, McElroy took the high road on this one:
