After falling all the way to No. 17 in the polls last week, the Georgia Bulldogs (7-2, 5-2) rebounded in a big way with a 63-31 throttling of the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, Ky.

As a result of the huge win, UGA saw a slight increase in both polls for Week 12. In the Amway Coaches Poll, the ‘Dawgs jumped up three spots to No. 14, and in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, it was a slightly less of a bump of just one spot up to No. 16.

It remains to be seen how Georgia’s ranking in the College Football Playoff poll will be affected after its Week 11 win, but it’s likely to be somewhere in the middle of today’s poll results, considering Georgia was ranked No. 20 in last week’s CFP poll. The ‘Dawgs are hoping for an outside shot of still competing for a playoff berth, despite two losses in the SEC. They’ll need a lot of help, including within their own division, but the possibility still remains especially with an upset win over top-10 ranked Auburn next week.

Georgia is one of six SEC teams in the top 25 for both the Coaches and AP Top 25 polls. Mississippi State and Alabama are the lone SEC teams in the top five. Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU round out the rest of the conference’s representatives.
