The ultimate legacy recruit: Paul Tyson, great-grandson of Bear Bryant, commits to Alabama

Alabama landed a very special commitment Thursday from in-state native Paul Tyson. Not only is he one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation for the 2019 recruiting cycle, he’s also the great-grandson of one Bear Bryant.
Rated as the No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the nation and the No. 10 overall prospect from Alabama according to 247Sports Composite Rankings, He also ranks as a four-star recruit. Tyson commits to Alabama over LSU, Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame and several others.

Following Tyson’s commitment, Alabama now has six commitments lined up for the 2019 recruiting cycle. All six players rank as four-star or better prospects.
