Ulysses Bentley IV just provided a jolt to Ole Miss as the Rebels look to shake off a sluggish start to the Egg Bowl vs. Mississippi State.
Trailing 14-10 midway through the second quarter, Ole Miss had struggled to generate consistent drives against the Bulldogs while also giving up some big connections on defense. But Bentley provided the play of the game to this point with a breakaway run.
On the first play of a drive from deep in their own territory, Bentley took a carry right up the gut. His blocking set up nicely and he made one man miss in the second level before outrunning the rest of the defense for 89 yards and the go-ahead touchdown.

The game-changing touchdown comes one week after Bentley did not register a single carry against Florida in a loss to the Gators. The 89-yard touchdown goes down as Ole Miss’s longest play of the season.
Ole Miss is still locked in a tight battle against Mississippi State, but the Rebels have claimed a 17-14 lead inside of 4 minutes to play in the half. A win would give Ole Miss a 9-3 finish to the regular season while another loss, especially in the Egg Bowl, would be disastrous for Lane Kiffin.
