The college football regular season is wrapped up, and the attention now turns to championship weekend next Saturday. Many of the conference championship games have direct College Football Playoff implications.
SuperBookUSA has released their national title odds now that the conference title games are set, and the self-proclaimed defending national champion UCF Knights are included, just maybe not to the odds that they would like.
Updated @CFBPlayoff title odds via @SuperBookUSA:
Alabama 2/5
Clemson 7/2
Georgia 12/1
Notre Dame 12/1
Ohio State 20/1
Oklahoma 20/1
UCF 1,000/1— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) November 25, 2018
UCF has a whopping 1,000 to 1 chance to win the College Football Playoff, according to SuperBookUSA. The Knights would likely need Ohio State to fall to Northwestern in the B1G Championship, Alabama to beat Georgia in the SEC, Clemson to beat Pitt in the ACC, and Oklahoma to lose to Texas in the Big 12. Even if all these games went UCF’s way, it would still be a long shot for them to get in.
Of course, the Knights have to take care of business against Memphis in the AAC Championship first. They edged out the Tigers 31-30 in Week 7 to preserve their unbeaten streak, but they will have to play the rematch without star quarterback McKenzie Milton after he suffered a gruesome injury in the win over USF last week.
Unsurprisingly, Alabama currently has the best odds to win the title. But if you’re feeling risky, go ahead and put a buck on UCF. Why not? Best-case scenario, you win $7,000.
