Georgia’s loss at Auburn put a significant dent in the SEC’s chances of landing two teams in the College Football Playoff, according to updated betting odds from BookMaker.
The odds of two SEC teams making the CFP dropped from -260 to +220 in the last week. Similarly, as Auburn’s chances of making the CFP improved following the rout of Georgia, the odds slid in favor of a two-loss team qualifying for the CFP.
Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma appear solid bets to qualify, and the fourth team could be Wisconsin, if it finishes undefeated. Of course, Wisconsin’s schedule has received the most criticism of any top team, and been one reason why critics have said the Badgers shouldn’t qualify for the playoff.
Despite Miami’s recent momentum following the big win over Notre Dame, these odds suggest the loser of the ACC Championship Game of Clemson and Miami would likely not make the playoff.
