Tre Williams’ domestic assault case took another turn Wednesday when The Columbia Missourian reported that the Missouri defensive end will in fact be charged.

That report came a day after The Missourian wrote that Williams would not face charges. According to the newest report, an assistant prosecuting attorney provided the paper with incorrect information about Williams’ case.

The confusion has not altered the sophomore’s suspension from team activities, and now he almost certainly will not play for the No. 23 Tigers in their Liberty Bowl showdown against Oklahoma State on Dec. 31. According to The Missourian, Williams’ arraignment is set for Jan. 2, 2019.

Williams made 20 tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this season.
