One game in the books and 11 to go for each SEC team, and the odds to capture the SEC title have yet to drastically shift following the first weekend of the college football season.

The only team that truly hurt its odds to win the conference last week was Vanderbilt as the Commodores dropped a conference game while South Carolina took a small step toward Atlanta by winning in Nashville. If there’s one team that provides value on the board at this point, it is the Gamecocks as Will Muschamp’s boys have the potential to open the season 2-0 in conference play at Mississippi State this week.

If the Gamecocks somehow start the season with two road conference victories, suddenly South Carolina would have legitimate hopes of reaching Atlanta barring an upset or two at home this season. The 100/1 odds may be worth the risk at this point.

Also of note, despite Georgia jumping Tennessee in both major polls, Tennessee still firmly holds the betting lead to win the conference over the Dawgs.
