Urban Meyer’s son, Nate, is going the path of his father.

The younger Meyer will walk-on the Cincinnati football team as a wide receiver, Bearcats coach Luke Fickell told ESPN.

Nate has played outfield on the Cincy baseball team, like his father did, and he wants to get into coaching like his father, too.

“He loved football and became enamored with it in high school, went to a very good program and had a very good experience,” Urban Meyer told ESPN on Thursday. “As a young kid, he wasn’t really interested in football at all. My daughters were more into the football scene than he was, but then he really got enamored with it. He started training with the team, and that’s when he fell in love with the locker room, the people, the intensity, the weight training.”

If Nate is anything like his father, he’ll be a dynamic recruiter and relentless motivator. Urban, who is currently an analyst at FOX Sports, will go down as one of college football’s best coaches of all-time, and we may just see him on the field coaching another team in the future.
