Georgia vs. LSU is the most intriguing game in Week 7 for many reasons. One USA Today writer adds to the intrigue saying the outcome could open the door for three SEC teams making the College Football Playoff field of four.

On Friday, Dan Wolken shared his scenario for how three SEC teams – Alabama, Georgia and LSU – could make the CFP if LSU beats Georgia on Saturday.

The Cliff’s Notes version of Wolken’s scenario:

  • LSU beats Georgia on Saturday and Alabama on Nov. 3.
  • Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Championship Game to secure No. 2 seed.
  • Ohio State wins Big Ten, secures No. 1 seed.
  • Notre Dame, currently undefeated, loses a game.
  • Miami beats Clemson in the ACC title game, boosting LSU’s resume.
  • Two-loss Texas wins the Big 12 championship.
  • Washington loses a second game before winning the Pac-12 title.
  • One-loss Alabama takes No. 3 seed.

It might sound wild, but Wolken argues that if all that happens, the selection committee could warm to a 11-2 LSU to fill the fourth and final spot.
