USA TODAY writer thinks Charlie Strong could be in the mix for 2 SEC jobs

Charlie Strong’s stint as the head coach at Texas didn’t go according to plan, but the first-year USF coach has his new team firing on all cylinders.
The Bulls are currently 5-0 and have risen to No. 18 in the AP Poll, which has many speculating on what could be next for the talented coach.
According to USA TODAY’s Dan Wolken, Strong could be in the mix for the Tennessee and Ole Miss jobs, should either school decide to make a coaching change:
Though Strong’s Texas experience was a disaster, he’s 58-37 as a college head coach and will likely win 10 or more games this season at USF. He’s still a marketable name in the business and has a good track record, a good recruiting reputation and a likable personality. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see him involved with Ole Miss or perhaps Tennessee, which offered him the job in 2012 when he was at Louisville.
Ole Miss currently has interim coach Matt Luke at the helm, so a change at the end of the year wouldn’t be surprising.
Tennessee, meanwhile, is waiting to see what happens the rest of the season with Butch Jones, who could be gone if the Vols don’t improve soon.
Whether or not Strong could land an SEC job remains to be seen, but if USF keeps winning, he should continue to emerge as a top candidate for a Power 5 position.
