The USC Trojans will miss out on a bowl game this year after finishing 5-7 after a Week 13 loss to Notre Dame.
Many felt that would be the last straw for embattled coach Clay Helton, who failed to live up to expectations with the preseason No. 15 team in the country.
However, AD Lynn Swann announced on Sunday morning that Helton would remain the Trojans’ head coach moving into 2019 and beyond. You can see his announcement in the tweet below:
“Clay Helton is our head coach and he will continue to be our head coach.”

While Swann may have a point, especially with the comparison to Notre Dame and Brian Kelly, fans are not happy. In fact, as you can see in the tweets below, many now want Swann to be fired too:

I wanna cry. Like what is Lynn Swann smoking? Bama doesn’t have 5-7 seasons. Ohio State doesn’t have 5-7 seasons. Georgia doesn’t have 5-7 seasons. Oklahoma doesn’t have 5-7 seasons. Swann has to go.

Will USC end up firing both Swann and Helton, or will both remain on the sidelines in 2019 and beyond? We’ll find out over the coming weeks and months.
