After throwing for a whopping 40 yards in his one year at Arizona State, Blake Barnett quickly jumped ship to USF. Considering he threw for 219 yards for Alabama at the beginning of the 2016 season before controversially leaving the program abruptly a few games into the season, the former five-star prospect is still searching for his first impact role on a college football field.
USF is hoping Barnett finds it in Tampa, as he’s eligible immediately to compete for the Bulls entering the 2018 season. He’ll have two years left to play college football, assuming, of course, he lasts that long before leaving the program.
The graphic USF put out announcing the move is interesting, as it proudly displays Barnett’s previous stops as if he’s a glorified offseason free agent signing:
Welcome to the Bay, Blake Barnett ☀️ ?
Graduate transfer quarterback will have two years of eligibility.
