The USFL draft had a unique format for its draft process, and in the second round, it was exclusively defensive ends and pass rushers.

With the first pick of the second round of the 8-team draft, the New Orleans Breakers chose Davin Bellamy out of Georgia, and with the seventh pick, the Tampa Bay Bandits chose Mekhi Brown, who played at Alabama from 2015-2017, and later transferred to Tennessee State.

Brown redshirted in 2015, and then in 2016 played mainly on special teams in 3 games. In 2017, he played in 12 games and recorded 7 tackles.

Bellamy at Georgia in his career made 113 tackles and 13 sacks from 2015-17.

After a supplemental draft in March, each team will have 45 players, for a league total of 360 players. Once the season begins on April 16, each team’s active roster will have 38 players plus a seven-man practice squad.

Each team will play a 10-game regular-season in Birmingham, Alabama. Playoff semifinals between the top 2 teams in each division and a championship game between division winners will be played in Canton, Ohio.

The teams are the Birmingham Stallions, Houston Gamblers, New Orleans Breakers, and Tampa Bay Bandits in the South Division; and the Michigan Panthers, New Jersey Generals, Philadelphia Stars, and Pittsburgh Maulers in the North Division.
