UTEP unleashes truly awful play to start the season

UTEP faced Jacksonville State on Saturday in the season opener. The Miners had an interesting play call during the first half, to say the least.

UTEP found itself on fourth down with three yards to go. For some reason the Miners decided to line up like they were trying to take a QB kneel. The funny thing was that they ended up passing out of the formation.

Unfortunately for UTEP’s sake, quarterback Gavin Hardison was sacked after trying to make something happen. If you thought a QB sneak was going to happen out of the formation, think again.

Jacksonville State joined the Conference USA this season after previously being in the ASUN Conference.

Other teams who joined Conference USA this season include Liberty, New Mexico State, and Sam Houston.

You’ve got to hand it to UTEP, Jacksonville State probably didn’t prepare for that kind of formation to be used in the season opener.

College football is officially back.
