Vanderbilt landed a key commitment in the class of 2024 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Commodores picked up a pledge from 3-star athlete Joseph McVay. An Arkansas native, McVay chose Vanderbilt over Texas A&M, Penn State, Purdue and South Carolina, amongst other programs.

McVay took his official visit to Vanderbilt earlier this month before making his final decision. He initially received an offer from the Commodores back in the spring.
He’s the No. 738 overall player and the No. 77 athlete in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 6 player from the state of Arkansas.
He attends Earle High School in Earle, Arkansas. He’s listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds.
Although McVay is listed as an athlete, Vanderbilt appears to be recruiting him to play receiver at the next level. Vanderbilt wide receivers coach Alex Bailey is his primary recruiter.
Vanderbilt now has 17 commitments in the class of 2024. The group ranks No. 31 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
