Vanderbilt lands commitment from local offensive lineman

Offensive tackle Nate Clifton is staying close to home, leaving Nashville suburb Brentwood for Vanderbilt campus.

The Brentwood Academy product announced Monday via his Twitter account that he’s pledging to the Commodores. Listed at 6-5, 250 pounds, Clifton is a 3-star recruit rated the No. 54 Tennessee product.

He also had 13 other scholarship offers including Cincinnati and Navy. This month he took an unofficial visit to Tulane.

Vanderbilt now has 21 pledges in its 2019 recruiting class. Clifton’s highlights and announcement note can be viewed below:
