Published:

Kenwick Thompson has been considered one of Derek Mason’s most trusted assistants during his two-year tenure at Vanderbilt.

But it seems that Mason will have to make due without him, based on a report coming from Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated:

Thompson was the associate head coach at Vanderbilt and was in charge of a very productive LB corp.

He will reportedly get the chance to be a defensive coordinator at East Carolina, which is a position held by Derek Mason himself at Vanderbilt.

Thompson was a defensive coordinator at San Jose State and long-time defensive assistant at Cal prior to coming to Vanderbilt with Mason in 2014.
