The Vanderbilt Commodores are going to be without OL Jared Southers next season, as he’s leaving the program to pursue graduate transfer options.
Southers had originally been committed to play at Temple under coach Geoff Collins next fall, but now that Collins has landed the Georgia Tech job, that has changed.
Per a tweet on Saturday night, Southers will follow Collins to Atlanta and suit up for the Yellow Jackets in 2019:
I want to thank the Temple players and community for embracing me as one of their own, but I have decided it’s in my best interest to flip my commitment to Georgia Tech #togetherweswarm? pic.twitter.com/d4H79HtMDO

Southers has played for three years at Vanderbilt, so he’ll have one year of eligibility remaining. He can play any of the five positions along the offensive line.
Southers is graduating from Vanderbilt this month, so he could theoretically be on Georgia Tech’s campus in time for spring ball.
