Vanderbilt is gearing up for its first bowl game under third-year coach Derek Mason, and the team is marking the occasion with a blackout.

The Commodores will sport black from head to toe on Dec. 26 when they take on North Carolina State in the Independence Bowl. The team’s Twitter account is also encouraging fans traveling to Shreveport, La. for the game to wear black.

The game is set for a 4 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN2.
