As Vanderbilt’s offensive coordinator, and now interim coach, Todd Fitch knows a thing or do about developing young quarterbacks. Now he’s on the other side when Tennessee comes to down with its own young quarterbacks.

“They can all throw the ball, have good arm strength, just like when we played Ken Seals early, they will look to help him along,” Fitch said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “I think they will try to run the ball against our defense, they’ve done a good job with that. We have to stop the run, force the quarterbacks to throw but they all look like good quarterbacks.”

Fitch also discussed canceled games, and the likelihood the Commodores play the rescheduled game with Georgia, which was called off last weekend.

“Kirby (Smart) and I did speak last week and I explained it to him, it’s less about numbers and more about certain positions,” Fitch said. “I’m confident as anyone can be… we certainly feel we can play, barring anything crazy with our last test. We plan on finishing this thing out and that’s what I’ve told our players. It’s about making good decisions off the field.”

The Commodores and Vols are set to play at 4 p.m. ET from Nashville on the SEC Network.
