Vanderbilt quarterback Johnny McCrary is transferring.

According to coach Derek Mason, the redshirt sophomore’s intention is to earn his undergraduate degree at the university by the end of summer 2016, which will allow him to play at another school next season.

That will give McCrary two years of eligibility at his next school, which is unknown at the time.

McCrary started 12 games in two seasons with the Commodores before being replaced on Oct. 24 against Missouri by true freshman Kyle Shurmur, who is expected to start for the team in 2016.
