Get ready for a reunion in Las Vegas, Georgia fans.
Former Bulldogs linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker each signed a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, meaning the top linebackers for the 2021 national championship team will once again play as part of the same defensive backfield.
Let’s start with Walker, who spent the past 4 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders are signing Walker to a 3-year deal worth $40.5 million, with $28 million guaranteed.
Walker was at his best during his first 2 seasons with Green Bay, but he was a solid player across all 4 seasons. He’s posted a combined 469 tackles with 9 sacks and 17 pass deflections so far in his career, starting all but one game.
Dean has also been a success in the NFL, though he’s run into more injury issues than Walker. Dean has so far suited up for 47 games with 27 starts and sits at 226 combined tackles with 19 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 5 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles. Dean is an absolute force when blitzing and won a Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2024, which remains his best season in the NFL thus far.
The Raiders are signing Dean to a 3-year deal worth $36 million.
