All Kentucky has done this year is snap its losing streak to Florida, upset ranked teams and achieve its first spot in the AP Top 25 since 2007, but Vegas still doesn’t seem to have much faith in the Wildcats.
According to ESPN gambling writer David Payne Purdum, Kentucky opened as an 11.5-point home underdog against Georgia for next month’s game.
Updated games of the year lines @CaesarsPalace:
Washington -5.5 at Oregon
Georgia -11.5 at Kentucky
Oklahoma -3 at WVU
Notre Dame -6 at USC
Michigan at Ohio St -8.5— David Payne Purdum (@DavidPurdum) October 3, 2018
Kentucky has climbed all the way to No. 13 thanks to its hot start that included wins against then-No. 14 Mississippi State and current No. 22 Florida. Workhorse running back Benny Snell is emerging as a Heisman Trophy candidate, and the Wildcats are looking like a real challenger in the SEC East.
But oddsmakers still consider No. 2 Georgia a heavy favorite, though plenty could change for both teams before their Nov. 3 meeting. Kentucky has road trips to Texas A&M and Missouri, while the Bulldogs travel to No. 5 LSU.
