Velus Jones Jr. can’t wait to play in Josh Heupel’s offense: ‘I feel like a kid in a candy store’

After playing for Jeremy Pruitt and Clay Helton in recent seasons, it’s understandable why Velus Jones Jr. is so excited for the upcoming college football season.
Tennessee is set to transition from one of the slowest-paced offenses in the country to one of the fastest this season under Heupel, which should equate to a high volume of touches for Jones and his fellow receivers this season on Rocky Top.
For reference, Heupel’s former team, UCF, led the nation with an average of 88 offensive snaps per game. Tennessee averaged 68.9 offensive snaps a game, which ranked 92nd nationally.
During his appearance at SEC Media Days on Tuesday, Jones shared his thoughts on playing in the new offense on Rocky Top.
