A college football legend made a TV appearance Tuesday night on Halloween.

Verne Lundquist, longtime play-by-play announcer for the SEC on CBS, gave a special message to the CBS Sports’ Inside College Football crew on Tuesday night’s show.

Lundquist helped the show introduce its Halloween segment after recalling some of his fondest memories from his career.

“Now that I think about it, there’s some great costume ideas there,” Lundquist said. “The SEC always delivers the biggest moments, and I know you will too. Happy Halloween.”

The crew then introduced their Halloween costumes, with the theme of “Iconic Moments and Images of the SEC.”

Rick Neuheisel was assigned the costume of “the blade of grass that Les Miles ate.” The former LSU coach was seen eating grass on the sideline during a game several years ago.

Brian Jones’ costume was the iconic Mississippi State cowbell that can be heard ringing out during home games for the Bulldogs.

Randy Cross was the goal post floating down the Tennessee River. Last year after Tennessee downed Alabama, fans stormed the field, taking the goal posts from the stadium and throwing them in the nearby river.

Aaron Taylor’s costume was Toomer’s Corner, the staple on Auburn’s campus, and Adam Zucker was Georgia’s legendary mascot “UGA.”
