Verne Lundquist to be honored with prestigious award

The voice of the SEC on CBS will be recognized for his incredible body of work.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced that Verne Lundquist will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for Sports at the 37th annual Sports Emmy Awards in May.

“Uncle Verne” has covered more than 20 sports in his time with CBS, including golf where he still covers the Masters and the PGA Championship. He also currently covers the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Lundquist is entering his 35th season as a broadcaster with the network.
