At one point on Monday during the NFL Combine, former Texas A&M running back-turned-defensive back Brandon Williams made us wonder if he’d ever run the 40-yard dash.

As it turns out, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Williams took quite a while to prepare himself for his runs in the event with a routine that had everyone scratching their heads. That included NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who can be heard saying, “He’s taking this thing too far, though.”

Here it is below.

Nonetheless, Williams — who posted a 4.43 in his first run — bettered that with a 4.37 in his second to tie for the 4th-best time among all defensive backs.
