Video: Alabama uses trick play to score opening touchdown against Tennessee
Alabama has drawn first blood in Knoxville — with a bit of trickery, to boot.
Junior receiver ArDarius Stewart scored the game’s first touchdown on a 29-yard reverse in the first quarter, putting the No. 1 Crimson Tide ahead of No. 9 Tennessee 7-0. He received key blocks from receiver Gehrig Dieter and quarterback Jalen Hurts after the trick play fooled the banged-up Volunteers defensive front.
A string of big runs to the right set up the reverse. Alabama currently has the ball back in the waning moments of the opening quarter after forcing a punt.
