When the SEC coaches spoke in 2015, we listened.

We laughed, we cried and hung onto every word. Coachspeak and all.

Here are some of the highlights from each SEC coach’s musing with the media in 2015:

NICK SABAN, ALABAMA

On the podium claiming his fourth national title in seven seasons, “I’m smiling”:

BRET BIELEMA, ARKANSAS

On his postgame plans with the wife following crazy overtime victory at Ole Miss:

GUS MALZAHN, AUBURN

On media wanting to give his secrets away in advance of the Iron Bowl:

JIM MCELWAIN, FLORIDA

On the kicker carousel that plagued the Gators all season:

MARK RICHT, GEORGIA

On what he said to Marshall Morgan before kicking game winner against Mizzou, which was a perfect example of the way Richt treated his players during his tenure with the Bulldogs:

MARK STOOPS, KENTUCKY

On his “bad decisions” that led to a loss at Vanderbilt, which was the difference in a bowl during another 5-7 season:

LES MILES, LSU

Sure, there were serious moments for Les Miles in 2015, but him fielding questions about not allowing Leonard Fournette chase cattle in pre-Texas Bowl festivities while wearing a cowboy hat is the type of thing that makes him Les Miles:

DAN MULLEN, MISSISSIPPI STATE

On crazy 51-50 win against Arkansas:

GARY PINKEL, MISSOURI

On beating BYU the day after he announced to the team that he would resign at the end of the season due, in part, to illness:

HUGH FREEZE, OLE MISS

On the performance of his moments after defeating Alabama for the second consecutive season back in September:

STEVE SPURRIER, SOUTH CAROLINA

On his sudden midseason resignation, “It’s time for me to step out of the way.”:

BUTCH JONES, TENNESSEE

On how his team needs to learn how to win after devastating loss at Florida (they did):

KEVIN SUMLIN, TEXAS A&M

On transfer of starting QB Kyle Allen after the season, which was followed by Kyler Murray’s departure. “This program is bigger than one person.”:

DEREK MASON, VANDERBILT

On his team’s offensive struggles in 2015. “Those things are going to be heading in a different direction. They have to be, this game is no holds barred.”:
