Video: Cowherd ranks top programs since 1970

Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd has been known to draw the wrath of SEC fans, but this time he’s on the side of two conference powers.

Earlier this week, the Associated Press released its top 100 programs of all time, based on its polls dating back to 1936. In that poll, two SEC teams made the top 10, with Alabama and Florida checking in at No. 4 and No. 9 respectively.

Cowherd came up with a top 10 of his own, focusing on figures since 1970. When focusing on more recent success, the SEC gets a significant boost. The Crimson Tide and Gators get noticeable bumps in Cowherd’s rankings:

  • No. 1 Alabama
  • No. 5 Florida
